Cydal - Wild-flower Pixie

Small Watercolour Painting
Cydal - Wild-flower Pixie

“Dream something and it can be achieved. The Wild-flower Pixie is dreaming and her dreams may be in sharp contrast to each other, as are the colours in this painting. Shades of purple and blue were used to complement yellow and orange. Open wings, from the left and the right, draw the viewer’s eye inwards to focus on the centre of the picture.”

Cydal - Wild-flower Pixie

Cydal is a wild-flower pixie with semi-transparent wings that reflect her surrounding colours. She rests diminutive elbows on rounded knees as she settles comfortably amongst the fragile petals. She sleepily enjoys the early warmth of the summer sun, while a contented smile tugs at the corners of her mouth.

The tiny creature absently twirls a copper strand of hair round her finger, lost in her own happy thoughts. Light hearted and uncomplicated, she is playful and delights in droll, amusing distractions.
